The Sorcerer

The Sorcerer class follows a very natural path of progression from the Mage archetype. Rather
than being saddled with the same old spells and a spiffy new pet like the Spiritmaster, you can
now focus all of your efforts into bending the weave of the universe to your will. The
destruction you were able to wreak as a mere mortal mage doesn’t remotely compare to the
hell you’ll learn to unleash upon your foes as an immortal Sorcerer.

Yay! I’m a Sorcerer… now gimmee.

The first thing you’ll receive is your choice of a new weapon. Up until now, you’ve been forced
to flip open a spellbook, waggle your fingers, and zap some enemies. Now you can choose
between another spellbook and a new weapon type: an orb.

Given all the information available to you in the description of both, it looks as though you
would be a fool not to choose the Orb of Karma. The Orb does more damage, has better stats
(minus the Magical Accuracy), and let’s face facts; everyone likes to play with something
new.

Sounds great, right? Guess what though. You should take the Spellbook of Karma instead. On
paper, this looks like a boneheaded idea of the first order. There’s just one disturbing little fact
the description of both items fails to mention. The Orb is a close range (as in melee distance)
weapon. This works perfectly for a Spiritmaster, but for the Sorcerer, it’s a near-suicidal
mistake. The Spellbook is a ranged weapon, just like you’ve been using all along, so grab it and
be happy.

Where Are My New Spells?

Once the thrill and excitement of your recent ascension wears off, you’ll quickly begin to
realize you’re little more than a glorified Mage at this stage of your development. While you
may not get a lot of new spells, you have grown in power so don’t get too depressed. The
treasures of the future are just around the corner.

At level 10, your method of hunting should not vary at all from your days as a Mage. Even
though you’re using the same techniques, you do have a couple of new abilities (Herb and
Mana Treatments) to do it with. Flame Bolt II is an upgraded version of Flame Bolt I (duh!) and
packs a meaner punch. It works exactly the same way and will also trigger your Blaze chain
attack.

On comparing this with the other leveling guides out there, this one right up on the top. This one gets five stars! As far as leveling goes we would rate it just a tad below KFguides Aion Leveling gudie but with the amount of goodies you get with this, we feel it is worth the price and is definitely the better offer compared to KFGuides Aion leveling guide.

As far as comparison with the current top leveling guide(KFgudies) goes , It is almost equal to them as far as leveling guide goes but where it really excels is the whole bunch of other goodies that you get with it. Since I’ve already own a copy of KFGuides and KillerGuides,I will focus more on the features in this guide that you wont find in any other Aion guide and if it is good or not.

To begin, with the very first and important point about this guide is – ‘It’s complete’, meaning it has both Asmodian Leveling Guide (1-50) and Elyos Leveling Guide (1-50)  in one book itself and complete.

Detailed step by step guide to quests along with maps and related screenshots. This makes it so easy when it comes to power leveling. As all the locations and routes are already available in this guide, we don’t need waste time wandering here and there.

The color coding in this guide really helps you as you use the guide extensively. As is the case with KFguides, the color coding really comes into its own as you use the guide. Soon, you will just be looking at the color and accepting or turning in quests, saving you a hell a lot of time (things like these really help you level up faster, and it is attention to such details that is lacking in the leveling guide of Fantoms and killerguides)

Apart from this, the guide also has a lot of hidden information which really helps you along the way! These tips can only be obtained by someone who has actually played the game extensively and Kozen has done a really good job of it. The attention to detail is really great, for example , he gives you specific routes to avoid violent mobs when you dash around for quests. These kind of tips really makes us appreciate the writer for the time he has put in, in this guide.

Step-By-Step Instruction – Yes! It is. Unlike some of the competitors, Step by step actually means step by step. It doesnt say go to X do quest Y. It is clear, concise, easy to read and is a treasure trove of information. The thing is, Aion is a game where the quests get repeated everytime you make a character. So, what you need is a really awesome guide that will actually help you in the long run as well. And we are proud to say, this guide will certainly do that.

Around Verteron there are Small Vortexes in the air. You have to use your Extract Aether to gather it. If you are leveling your Extracting skills I recommend extracting it every time that your flying time is recharged. Before you leave the Verteron zone your Extract Aether needs to be 50. Be sure to save at least 10 Aether Powder since you will need it for a quest at level 20.

QUEST LOOP – Go Counterclockwise around Verteron.

**There is Tog named Gaione that patrols around Verteron. Get Quest: The Guardian Who Became a Tog if you see him. You will probably see him again in your travels so you can turn it in.

Loot: 5 Crystal Fragments. These are scattered randomly outside Verteron.

Investigate the Loiterers Camp. Straight North of the Verteron Gate.

Kill: Sharphorn Starcrab for 6 Starcrab Carapaces.

Stay left as you enter the mine.

You will come to an Item Stack(898, 2016).

Turn In: Stolen Village Seal to Gaphyrk(894, 2024), in the cage. (14,900 EXP)

Get Quest: Gaphyrk’s Love.

Now clear a path down the hill to Mimiti(907, 2104).

Aggro Mimiti and kite her back up to Gaphyrk by hitting her while walking backwards. Careful to not get any more mobs. You will enter a cutscene when you get her close to the cage.

Turn In: Gaphyrk’s Love to Gaphyrk. (15,500 EXP)

Get Quest: Village Seal Found.

Update Quest: Village Seal Found by using the Item Stack.

Go back to Tolbas Village.

Turn In: Secret Trade to Saminel. (5,000 EXP)

Update Quest: Odium in the Dukaki Settlement at Leto.

Turn In: Village Seal Found to Santenius. (21,600 EXP)

Turn In: Retrieving Supplies to Abolos. (11,000 EXP)

Get Quest: Lightningfoot Tuka.

Exit North and wait at the fork in the road for Lightningfoot Tuka. He runs Counterclockwise around the hill between the fork in the road. You should see him in less than 2min.

After you kill Tuka follow the right fork.

You should see a large rock outcropping to the North that has the cauldrons on it, go there.

Be on the lookout for a Tursin Bigmouth. Kill: these until you get the Bell Strike Rod.

Once you get the Rod, ring the Dukaki Alarm(760, 2474). Be ready to kill the spawn, Overseer Redtum.

Loot: the Odium Solvent he drops.

Update Quest: Odium in the Dukaki Settlement by using the Solvent at the Cauldrons(794, 2489).

Continue killing Dukaki as you head over to Poppy(950, 2479), who is South of the rock outcropping.

Kill: Dukaki for 2 Dukaki Amulets, Naia’s Bracelet(Bruiser), Naia’s Necklace(Watcher), and Naia’s Ring(Cook).

**The amulets have a horrid drop rate, took me almost a full hour of grinding to get them one time, but another time I got them in less than 5min.

After you get all the above items:

Update Quest: Missing Poppy and lead her back to Tolbas Village.

Turn In: Missing Poppy at Cannon. (30,400 EXP)

Update Quest: Odium in the Dukaki Settlement at Leto.

Turn In: Lightningfoot Tuka at Abolos. (9,980 EXP)

Turn In: Stolen Jewelry to Naia. (26,500 EXP)

Exit Southeast and follow the road to Lepios.

Once you get to Lepios:

Get Quest: Contaminated Samples.

Go Back into the Frillneck Habitat.

Kill: 12 Giant Rake Frillnecks.

Kill: Tiny Arachna for 1 Arachna Poison Sac.

Loot: 10 Contaminated Body Fluid Samples from Giant Rake Claw Frillnecks, Venomous Arachna, and Glade Plumas.

Once you get the Contaminated Samples go back to Lepios.

Turn In: Contaminated Samples. (25,480 EXP)

Run West to Illos.

Turn In: Collecting Poison Sacs. (12,700 EXP)

Update Quest: Source of the Pollution at Geolus.

Go to Tolbas Village.

Turn In: Frillneck Hunt at Leto. (54,300 EXP)

Update Quest: Trandila’s Eggs.

Head back to the Frillneck Habitat.

Kill: Trandila, spawns at either(1632, 2364) or (1690, 2340).

Return to Tolbas Village.

Turn In: Trandila’s Eggs to Leto. (54,000 EXP)

Exit North and stick to the right at the fork in the road.

Stay in the Dukaki Mine until your Extract Vitality skill is 45.

Right after the hut where Poppy is located there is another fork in the road.

Go Southeast at the fork.

You will come across Headless Stone Statue(1021, 2583).

Get Quest: Headless Stone Statue.

Cross the road and enter the lower pool of water.

Loot: Head of Stone Statue at (1013, 2614).

Return to Headless Stone Statue.

Continue to follow the road South.

Loot Targena along the way until your Extract Vitality skill is 55.

Follow the road until you get to Considerate Lagos(1314, 2515).

Kill: Poisonous Bubblegut(1660, 2749). You have 2 Slime Immunity Medicine you need to use in order to kill Bubblegut, they remove the Spout Sticky Protection Fluid buff that Bubblegut has. A few things about Macro’s in Aion:

It took a while to get my working in the Aion Beta’s, because unfortunately the in-game Macro building gadget doesn’t work and gives you the wrong information. Here are a few pointers for writing macro’s:

1. If the skill says it has a 2 second cast, you will need a 3 second /delay before inserting the next action. Whether this is a bug or not, I’m not sure, but you need to give a delay longer than the skill cast time printed on each skill.
2. All variables are CASE SENSITIVE! I can’t stress this enough. For example, [%target] is not the same as [%Target].
3. The built in game instructions have many many errors. For example, it will tell you to use things like [%target'starget] which doesn’t work at all. It also tells you to use [%Yourself] which isn’t correct, the correct variable for yourself is [%Self]. You can pretty much disregard most of the things the built in guide tells you to do.

Tested Bunny Macro’s:

Here are some macro’s that I have tried and tested successfully so far in the Aion Beta tests. I have written these based on things I wanted to do, but they can be easily tailored to do other things.

1. Automatically attack the Nearest Enemy:

This macro will simply target something, tell your party what you are attacking, then send your character running off to attack it.

/select [%AutoTarget]
/Group I am going to attack [%Target] now.
/Attack

2. Automatically attack the Tank’s Target:

This macro will target the what the tank is attacking, tell everyone in your group that you are going to assist, then send your character running off to attack. I found this macro also worked using the /select [%GroupX] command, where X = the tank’s position in the team.

Thanks to Pepper for pointing out that you can drag people around in your party – this now means you can also just assign the tank variable to [%Group1] and drag the tank into that position in your party list. Remember this isn’t necessarily the first position in the party list because the party leader is in position [%Group0].

3. Automatic Buffs:

This was perhaps the most useful macro as a Chanter or Cleric, because buffs are required so often in teams. All I had to do was select the person’s name in the party list that I wanted to buff, then hit the macro button.

4. Smelly Codfish Shout:

This was just for a bit of fun. You select the person (or enemy) you want to slap with a codfish, then hit the macro. The shout would read “Aeriel Shouts: I’ve just slapped insert-name about with a smelly old codfish!” You can see the possibilities for writing as many shout emotes as you like lol.

Kinah, or money makes the aion world go round, I am sure you wont disagree on that front. Be it leveling or PvE or PvP or any other aspect of the game, you will find kinah inextricably weaved into the game experience. And much like how money is a cause for a lot of worries in life, kinah is also a source of lot of worry ingame. Keeping this in mind, Killer guides has come out with a Kinah Guide.  The guide is not filled with get-rich-quick schemes, it does have some tips here and there to make a quick buck, but this guide on the whole , is to be used as exactly that, a guide, a source of reference when you want to make some Kinah. Dont expect to become a millionaire as soon as you get the guide. This is a guide that builds your base for future kinah growth and gives you all the necessary all round information about kinah in aion and it’s affecting factors.

The Basics

The guide starts from the basics, so you don’t feel lost if you are new and at the same time, we would advise our seasoned pros to also give the entire guide a read, you just might learn something new.

The guide starts out by listing all the possible ways of making kinah (crafting, enchantments, quests etc) along with other basic elements of the game that affect your kinah, for instance the influence ratio is an indicator of the faction balance in the server and in turn also indicates the prices being offered for selling your items, higher the influence ratio of our faction, the higher our prices and lower our taxes.

Crafting , Item Enhancements and Private stores

We then move onto each money making option in detail, we start off with Crafting and the various professions namely, Alchemy,  Armorsmithing, Cooking, Handcrafting, Tailoring and Weaponsmithing.The guide is pretty specific with it’s instructions, for example it lists out the exact kinah amounts you should carry before you talk to the craft expert of your choice. It also lists the positions of the various craft expert NPCs.

P.S. A useful mini-tip from aionguideslist.com, that enhances this guide and the game, incase you already didn’t know it . Use the command /pathfinding to mark a npc on your map. For Example, /pathfinding Denma will mark a purple cross on the map where the NPC Denma is to be present. This works even if you haven’t explored the map completely. This is especially useful when you have to meet an npc for the first time and you don’t have the npc on your quest window.

The guide goes on to explain the crafting process in detail, How to initiate work orders, What you should and shouldn’t do while gathering and the actual crafting process. It gives figures for success rates you can expect based on the difference between your skill level and receipe level. We then get an review of the various professions. The guide gives an overview of enchantments and the basic mechanics and numbers behind it.

The Private store section of the guide talks about the technical aspects of setting up shop and also generic tips common to setting shop in most mmos like locations, pricing, what sort of goods to put up , the store message etc.

Kinah Related Quests

Okay, now we come to the part of the guide that works off the payment we make. The following part of the guide is a highly detailed quest guide for Asmodians and Elyos separately which is further classified for different level groups(and their respective maps).  Under each level group he lists out the quests that are to be completed, keeping in mind both the kinah and exp, he details how to complete the quests and talks about the drops that are to be collected. He goes on to tell which drops are to be sold at the broker and which ones we are to save for future crafts. He also explains which mobs will give good drops(kinah-wise) and which are the ones to give a miss. He emphasizes on the monsters/ mini-bosses appropriate for your level that will drop considerable drops like equips or high kinah items. He lists out repeatable quests that will yield best results. For example, the gigantic box npc at Idun’s lake is one of the best NPC’s to target especially for it’s treasure hunter weapon, each one sells for 22450 kinah(auto – price) and a lot higher if you sell it to players. This is by far the most detailed aspect of the guide with a massive number of quests being handled in this section.

Quick Kinah Opportunities

The guide does list out a few quick earning tips classified as “Kinah Farming Oppurtunities” or “Kinah Earning Oppurtunities” (marked in orange in the guide as well). These usually refer to particular trick that will earn you some quick kinah, for example , one of the “Kinah earning oppurtunities” involves selling return scrolls at a specific location which is a really long walk back with loads of hostiles on the way. Thus you get to make some good profits on these items. We made quite some kinah using this on the nezekian server . But it wont be long before that bubble bursts.:) There are a few such quick-kinah tips in the guide(but not too many)”. Work Orders

The guide then moves on to a very comprehensive list of work orders detailing quest, level and expected rewards for various professions. And then another comprehensive table listing of various item enhancements , materials required and their  AP bonus among other things. This makes for a very handy guidebook of sorts when it comes to item enhancement activities.

Currently, this is a kinah making guide upto lvl20 , it is a very detailed guide with almost 150 pages for just  upto level 20. As I’ve said before the guide does not contain too many get rich quick tricks(it has a some though), but it lays the foundation for all your kinah knowledge needs , it will act as a comprehensive kinah related handbook . And moreoever , With an assurance from the author of a full version kinah guide coming out soon, I have faith that this guide will eventually become a comprehensive source for kinah growth in game. I have mailed the author to include more “Kinah earning opportunities” tips in the updates of this guide, love the ones present in this guide. If you intend to buy it at a later stage, I would advise you to buy the guide now itself and get the free updates as it comes out, rather than risk waiting for the update to buy when the guide rate may get hiked.

Sadly it’s not until hitting level 17 and exploring the Miraju Holy Ground south of Verteron Citadel. Speak to Anontrite at the shrine to gain the [Coin] Dampening Spirits quest which requires you to kill 14 Atmosphere Spirits and 8 Frost Wind Spirits. This should not be too much of a challenge at the level you are at so go off and tackle the beasts. After fulfilling the quest and getting your coin, initiate the quest again. Then, before flying down to tackle more spirits, sell the miscellaneous drops to the general store nearby and you will notice that most of these items sell for quite a lot and earn you a good amount of kinah.

Most returns would net me around 5-7000 Kinah and as an added bonus the mobs in this area seem to drop valuable items that can be sold at a good price to the Auction Brokers in town. The fact they also seem to offer a nice amount of experience makes this a great place to train up.

You can repeat this quest 100 times and earn coins which can be swapped for random pieces of armour it is well worth putting some time into as well as a quick way of earning some extra cash in Verteron.

The Assassin class is the “Rogue” or “Thief” archetype found within Aion. Like the majority of games which have such a class, you will find that dual wielding, stealth, and large amounts of melee (physical) based damage make up the class’ basic utilities. They rely on their ability to “burst” (do large amounts of damage in a short period of time) and restrict their targets movements through the use of stuns.

- The Assassin is one of two specialized classes you are able to choose upon reaching level 10 in the initial Scout school/subclass. The other being a Ranger.

(2.0)Does the Assassin get some type of stealth skill?

- Yes. The Scout class gets the skill Hide I (lvl. 5), which is the Aion equivalent of “stealth”, allowing both Assassins and Rangers to use the initial rank. Assassins however are the only ones which obtain Hide II (lvl. 34), which is much more difficult to detect, and lasts slightly longer.

Are there any abilities that can only be used while Hiding?:

- NO. As of now there are no abilities that are performed exclusively while in Hide mode, or any special damage/crit or other bonus for attacking while in Hide mode. Furthermore any ability used while in hiding will take you out of hiding.

What are Signet Patterns? How do they work? How do they effect stuns?

- Signet Patterns are often considered to be the Aion equivalent of a WoW Rogue’s “Combo Points”. Both of which can be stacked up to the maximum intensity of 5, and upon using a signet skill all engraved signet patterns on the target are consumed.

How are they used?:

- The more signet patterns engraved on a target, the greater effect the signet bursting ability will have on the target.

- Pain Rune is an example of a skill that utilizes signet patterns. As you can see from the tooltip, the more signet patterns erased/consumed, the higher the damage will be, and the higher chance you have of stunning the target.

- Signet Patterns are arguably the most difficult concept behind Assassins, as well the hardest thing to efficiently manage (next to rotation and cooldowns). Not every skill uses signet patterns, or applies patterns.

- Signet patterns compound with other Assassin’s engraving abilities. If you have two Assassin’s on one target, their signet pattern application and consumption will be from the same pool, and are still capped at 5 pattern levels. Therefore monitoring, coordinating, applying, and removing signet patterns is rather important when two or more Assassin’s are on a single target at the same time. Read on to find out more.

(3.1) Pattern Engraving: Engraving is the method of applying a pattern to your target. Each skill that has the ability to apply a pattern can only do so up to a certain intensity, and that intensity can be found in the skill description. See the following skill for an example:

Rune Carve I

As you can see from the above tooltip the skill “Engrave Signet” can apply patterns “up to the level of 3″. The pattern level can only go up one level at a time, per skill used. There are skills that are capable of applying up to 3 signet pattern levels, as well as ones that are capable of applying up to 5 signet pattern levels. See the following skill for an example:

Fang Strike I

The skills that can apply up to the 3rd level means that upon reaching pattern level 3 it will not be capable of pushing the pattern level any higher without using a skill that can go to level 5. Skills that can apply pattern up to level 5 however can further the targets Signet level from 1, all the way up to 5. This limitation makes it more difficult to obtain the maximum 5 patterns, and forces you to choose which skill to use in order to further it rather than simply spamming random skills to achieve 5 patterns without effort.

Photos: The following photo is of an Assassin’s level 5 pattern graphic. At level 1 there is only one square, at level 2 there are two squares, and so on. This is different than the debuff icon found found on the targets buff/debuff bar. The graphic only lasts for roughly .5-1 second before fading.

Do Assassins get a “Backstab” type of ability? (An attack that does more damage from behind, and/or can only be done from behind):

- Yes. Assassins get two attacks that deal bonus damage from the back. They are usable from any side, but the bonus will only be applied if you are at the targets back. The skills are as follows:

(1st rank at LVL. 34)

Weakening Blow I

The above skills are rendered virtually useless if not executed at the opponents back. Coupled with their long cooldown periods it is wise to only use them on a stunned, fleeing, or unaware target that you can easily approach from behind.

NOTE: There is a third “backstab” ability. However, it is a Divine Prayer skill and has been excluded from the list due to the high level requirement (50), DP (4000), and cooldown (1 hour) on the skill. I may add it later.

Do Assassins have any stun abilities?

- Yes. The Assassin gets a total of seven stuns to work with. Stuns are an essential tool to any Assassin that will effectively prevent your target from fleeing, casting, and damaging you. Stunning also grants you the opportunity to get in devastating back attacks that can turn the tide of any fight. While stunned the target is incapable of not only casting or movement, but defending themselves through the use of passive blocking, dodging, or parrying which indirectly boosts the Assassins damage on the target.

What are stigmas? Howmany do I get? Where do I get them?

- Stigmas are abilities that are only usable when a “Stigma Stone” is equipped in a “Stigma Slot”. Come patch 1.5, you will be able to equip an additional 3 stigma stones! Bringing the total you can equip to 8 at level 50.

Unlike regular skills that go up in rank as you level, new stigma ranks must be acquired through drop or quest. You may not stack multiple ranks of the same stigma in order to avoid the cooldown of the ability.

(6.2) Advanced Stigma Stones:

With the introduction of patch 1.5 each class will gain access to roughly six new stigma stones (abilities).

In order to unlock the three additional stigma slots you will have to do the following:

1.) Complete the initial introductory quest at level 40.

2.) Complete another quest quest at level 45, which unlocks two advanced stigma slots.

3.) And lastly, you must complete the third final quest at level 50 which unlocks the third and final advanced stigma slot.

The in game stigma stone tab as of 1.5 will look like the following:

The three slots on the right within the yellow rectangle are the “Advanced Stigma Slots”. You are capable of equipping any stone in these slots, but are unable to equip “Advanced Stones” in the original five slots on the left.

The Advanced Stones are more complex than original stones, and have pre-requisites to equip; such as other Advanced Stones, and/or regular stigmas. This will create a lot of customization between characters.

What are faction skills?

- Faction skills are unique abilities that the Elyos and Asmodians get, that the opposing faction does not. Not including Divine Prayer skills, they both get two abilities unique to their faction’s class.

Do Assassins get any type of poison abilities?

- Yes. They get two poisons to work with. The most important thing to know, and is by no means common knowledge, is **a poisoned target cannot initiate flight**. If poisoned while in flight however they will not be forced out of flight, but will still take damage from the poison as usual. Meaning if they are on the ground and in an area where you can fly, if you poison them they will not be able to pull out their wings until that poison is cured and/or wears off. They WILL be able to glide however, so don’t rule that out by any means. This will reduce their chance of fleeing by leaps and bounds.

-The poisons require a reagent named Scolopen’s Poison, which is quite cheap and can be purchased from every General Goods Merchant throughout the game. The skills that you are able to use are as follows:

Apply Poison I

The above poison is very useful in both PvE and PvP, due to the fact that it not only deals periodic damage to the target, but when used in conjunction with the Assassination skill you can dish out a great deal of bonus damage.

The second skill is actually a stigma, so it requires you to equip it in order to use it:

What are the main stats an Assassin uses, and looks for in items and armor?

- The most valuable statistics for an Assassin are without question Physical Crit., Attack Speed Increase, Evasion, and Attack. (Magic Resist at end game PvP)

(9.1) Physical Crit.:

Physical Crit. is the most crucial statistic for an Assassin, and can be the difference between a bad Assassin character, and an amazing Assassin character. For every 10 Critical rating you have, you gain roughly ~1% critical rating. So if you were to have 400 critical rating, it would be in the 40% crit region.

This stays true until 450 critical rating. From 450 and beyond you begin to get diminishing returns. Every 10 rating from 450 and on will in turn grant you half a crit. So 10=.5%, rather than the usual full 1%. This would mean that at 450 critical rating, you would be sitting at 42.5% crit.

In short: The faster you are able to reach and maintain 400+ critical rating the better. You will see a substantial increase in your slaying speed and efficiency as your critical rate increases.

**Important Fact**:

As of patch 1.5 (the version which NA/EU will be launching with), the critical damage modifier (NOT THE RATE) on both swords and daggers have been lowered. The exact figure is unknown but is rumored to be around 2.2x (down from 2.5x)

(9.2) Evasion:

Evasion is the main defense method of the Assassin. Due to their low P. Defense they must rely on avoiding as many hits as possible. Evasion does not effect your chances of resisting or avoiding spells however. It is suggested that once you are capable of attaining a high level of critical rating, that you then focus on evasion. it is highly debated as to just how effective evasion is, but from personal experience I must say that from a PvP standpoint it’s very, very strong.

(9.3) Attack Speed Increase:

The Attack Speed Increase stat increases the speed with which you attack with your auto-attack, and engravings. The stats soft and hard caps are unknown, but one is able to stack potions and skills upwards of 65% as of now. Furthermore, if you are using two weapons with + attack speed, only the weapon with the higher total amount will count (they are not cumulative anymore).

- Currently the stat can be found on several weapons (such as this one: Alukina’s Silver-Decorated Knife), a few pairs of gloves (as seen here: Archon Centurion Leather Gloves), and even some titles.

- The faster you attack, the faster you are able to execute pattern engraving abilities, as well as increasing your white damage a significant amount.

(9.4) Attack:

The attack rating is just what it sounds like. It is the amount of damage you are able to output. The higher the attack rating, the harder you will hit with both regular attacks as well as physical based skill attacks (Pain Rune is an example of a skill that is not affected by your attack rating).

**Important Fact**:

When using a weapon in the offhand that increases attack (such as this: Black Claw Chieftain’s Dagger), the bonus is applied directly to both your main and offhand. I.E. if your original attack was 100 on your main hand, upon equipping that dagger in your offhand you would see a new rating of 110, which is equivalent to a +5 enchantment.

What should I socket?

- You should socket according to the primary stats listed above. Focus entirely on Physical Crit rating. The majority of players will not deviate from full crit sockets until they are capable of maintaining a high value (350-400+ at least) while socketing Evasion, which shouldn’t occur until much later on ( level 35+).

-Play around with your stats to find your ideal amount of evasion and critical rate. But remember, crit always supersedes evasion in the stat food chain. In the end the higher you can get of both stats, the better.

(10.1) Manastones: Specifically, what stones should I use, on what gear, and at what levels?

- It is wise to use only level 4 stones up until your mid 20′s, and only on green gear that you’ll be using for some time. Never waste a crit stone on a white item, ever. After that it’s up to the discretion of the player.

- You can use alchemy and transform stones into even better ones (8′s, 9′s, 11′s, 12′s) and save them for higher levels, or you can use them on your good gear that you will be using for some time. The way to know what items you will be using for some time is to actually ask around and/or look on sites such as AionArmory – Aion Database to see what future gear you will have access to in the following levels.

(10.1) God Stones:

These are much like Manastones but are much more difficult to get, and a good deal more powerful. They are usable on weapons and grants a special “glow” or “visual effect”.

How do Assassins fair in flight combat? What abilities do they get while in flight?

- This is a very valid and frequently asked question that is heavily debated. While the Assassin obviously does not want their target to live long enough to move, let alone take off into flight (which can be prevented through the use of poisons), they are capable of holding their own while in an an aerial battle. They are given several abilities that can solely be used while in flight combat.

- One of the most valuable assets for an Assassin to use while in flight is a bow. Get a good bow and work on fast weapon swapping + auto attack, and you’ll be much more powerful in the air.
