• * Roads aren’t always the fastest way between two points. Go offroad! You won’t have to worry about aggro (kill on sight mobs) until you get into your level 6 or level 7 quests.
• * Remember that you can gather multiple times on each Angelica node, but Angelica grows throughout the intro areas, so don’t worry about getting your ten on the first trip. It’s good to get in the habit of gathering whenever you stumble across a node, since you’ll have at least one quest later on that requires 15 points in gathering.
• * Don’t replace your chest or foot armor – you’ll be getting upgrades to the chest piece soon enough, and foot pieces seem to drop with higher frequency than other pieces.
• * Titles give stats in Aion, so be sure to have a title equipped. At level 10, the Raider Hero title is great for melee classes, and the Fluent in Mau title is excellent for magic users (though you’ll need quite a bit of kinah to buy the language skill in Pandaemonium).
• * Remember that you can switch titles whenever you wish to! If you pick up the Bottled Lightening title, you can use it during long stretches of foot travel then switch back to a combat title when you need to.
• * Don’t neglect your harvesting skills! You’ll run into several quests in Verteron that will require you gather from harvesting nodes around the zone and skill levels will become obsolete quickly if you neglect them.
• * Repeatable quests are there for a reason! Grab these quests every time you pick up other local quests for extra experience and coin as a habit. You’ll find that they take little effort to complete but offer worthwhile reward.
• * Get the ascension done ASAP! The quest reward, wings, and level 10 skills are all worth earning as early as possible. If you need to go back to the newbie area, do so as a pimped out Daeva.
• * Most class skills update at level 10, 13, 16, and level 19. Save time by planning your trips back to the city at these levels or if you have the kina, buy as many upgrades as you can all at once!
• * Gliding is helpful in quick travel but is definitely an art form! For the best results, travel using your Num Lock or auto-run key then jump from hill peaks or ledges then hit your jump key again, while in mid-air, to glide. You may use your mouse to control your direction and elevation. Glide is also helpful to avoid falling damage. Hit your jump key before you hit the ground to float safely down.
• * Getting a little too crowded in your adventuring area? Change channels! Aion utilizes instances to keep zones from overcrowding and all you have to do to switch is click on your menu button at the bottom of your UI, hover over “Support” and choose “Change Channel”. A box will pop up at the top of your screen showing you which channel you are
  in and allowing you to drop it down and choose a different channel.

A really aion guide on how to farm snaggletooth for a Basalmon’s Shield..The main pain is locating the monster spawn, we spent about 6 hours waiting for him and he didnt show up Oh well, once we do, we will add a video here

This was written by Merovingian from Aion source.

I was unable to find any information on farming this creature “Snaggletooth” for the blue shield “Basalmon’s Shield”.

So after Farming him I decided to make a guide so that others who are after the shield could find the information here on Aion Source.

Attached you will find a screenshot with the necessary information.

Legend:

Mark “A” is where Snaggletooth spawns, he is much larger than the normal lizards and does a very small and slow pathing. He is very large and Greenish Red, you can’t really miss him.

Mark “B” is where you should stand when waiting for his spawn, you will catch VERY little agro from other mobs if you stand in this spot.

On the map the GREEN X on the left is the map location you are looking for, ignore the purple one.

His respawn timer is currently unknown, on the Kaisinel Server both Pasiv and I from Bene Elohim have farmed him and it took about 2 hours for both of us, but as that is a small sampling it could be much longer.

Snaggletooth is not a push over, he is Level 27… I personally went into the fight solo at level 24 with half health (from an add) blew everything I had on me including potions and I only got him to about 40% health before falling. A Cleric Res’d me and I paid him 10k to heal me while I killed Snaggletooth… At level 25+ with food buffs and a few potions a better templar than me should be able to solo him fairly easily if needed.

You can not use the shield till level 30, so farming it at level 24 prob wasn’t a terribly great idea.

1)Click on the item to be gathered
2)As soon as it pops up in your inventory, hit any movement key, in any direction and instantly click on the next item to gather.
You shave off the 1-2 seconds waiting time before you have to try again. It becomes especially useful against people trying to ninja the next attempt from you. I am guessing this should work against ze bots as well.
This works while flying and picking up Aether as well, every second up there counts, right?.

Another gem of an aion guide from Jasdemi.  A quick look at reducing Pings while you play Aion. But please do take necessary backups before you play around with your registry. We have had a lot of experiences in being overly excited and screwing along the way. Take care..play safe Please add any more comments if you have any…

So many people were QQ’ing about their super-high pings lately, so I decided to share some tweaks with you! My average ping in Aion is 25ms btw.
(to check your ping ingame, type /ping in the chat)

Let’s start with my two favourite tweaks

TPCAckFrequency and TCP NoDelay are disabled by default. Enabling them may lower your ping by up to 50%(or even more).

WARNING: Edit your registry step by step like in the following guides. Do not touch there anything else if you
don’t know what you’re doing, you may mess it up. Better do it slow, but carefully.

TcpAckFrequency (alternate, easy way: Leatrix Latency Fix script. Thanks to @Remaxer for sharing this.)

1. Click on your Windows icon on the left corner, type regedit and
   confirm with ENTER. (XP users must enter it in
   Run). A new window will open. Here you can edit your registry.
2. Go to the following directory:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\
3. Multiple interfaces should be there now. (e.g.
   {385D50B4-99B9-4290-ABAA-2B3CCDDECBD1})
4. Now check every single of them and find out what is the right one. The one
   we’re looking for has usually the most entries and contains your computer IP,
   DHCP informations, etc. (Note: If you’re too dumb to can’t find the right one,
   just do all the following changes for all of them.
5. Now right-click in the right hand panel and choose: New > DWORD
   (32bit) Rename the newly created file to
   TcpAckFrequency
6. Right click it and select Modify. A new window will open, enter
   1 into the Value data box and confirm with OK
7. We’re done with this one. Check out if this reduced your ping.

TCP NoDelay

1. Click on your Windows icon on the left corner, type regedit and
   confirm with ENTER. (XP users must enter it in
   Run). A new window will open. Here you can edit your registry.
2. Go to the following directory:

4. Right click it and select Modify. A new window will open, enter
   1 into the Value data box
   and confirm with OK
5. Check if it has reduced your pings

SmoothPING

SmoothPING is a proxy
server. I haven’t tested it myself, but many Aion users confirm ping drops up to
50%. It’s not free, there is a 20 minutes trial available though. It’s more
than enough time to see if it reduced your ping or not. Give it a shot!

Want more?

The 3 above are the ultimate lag killers, if they didn’t reduce your ping, you
might troubleshoot this:

• Is your internet connection fast enough to handle Aion? A broadband connection is
  required.
• Are programs running in the background, like torrents or something else that may
  consume your bandwidth too much?
• Pointless internet securtiy
  bullshit running? Turn it off
  temporally and see if it helped.
• Ports forwarded? 2106, 7777,
  10241 should be open
• Last but not least, stop downloading prons ffs!

Kinah, or money makes the aion world go round, I am sure you wont disagree on that front. Be it leveling or PvE or PvP or any other aspect of the game, you will find kinah inextricably weaved into the game experience. And much like how money is a cause for a lot of worries in life, kinah is also a source of lot of worry ingame. Keeping this in mind, Killer guides has come out with a Kinah Guide.  The guide is not filled with get-rich-quick schemes, it does have some tips here and there to make a quick buck, but this guide on the whole , is to be used as exactly that, a guide, a source of reference when you want to make some Kinah. Dont expect to become a millionaire as soon as you get the guide. This is a guide that builds your base for future kinah growth and gives you all the necessary all round information about kinah in aion and it’s affecting factors.

The Basics

The guide starts from the basics, so you don’t feel lost if you are new and at the same time, we would advise our seasoned pros to also give the entire guide a read, you just might learn something new.

The guide starts out by listing all the possible ways of making kinah (crafting, enchantments, quests etc) along with other basic elements of the game that affect your kinah, for instance the influence ratio is an indicator of the faction balance in the server and in turn also indicates the prices being offered for selling your items, higher the influence ratio of our faction, the higher our prices and lower our taxes.

Crafting , Item Enhancements and Private stores

We then move onto each money making option in detail, we start off with Crafting and the various professions namely, Alchemy,  Armorsmithing, Cooking, Handcrafting, Tailoring and Weaponsmithing.The guide is pretty specific with it’s instructions, for example it lists out the exact kinah amounts you should carry before you talk to the craft expert of your choice. It also lists the positions of the various craft expert NPCs.

P.S. A useful mini-tip from aionguideslist.com, that enhances this guide and the game, incase you already didn’t know it . Use the command /pathfinding to mark a npc on your map. For Example, /pathfinding Denma will mark a purple cross on the map where the NPC Denma is to be present. This works even if you haven’t explored the map completely. This is especially useful when you have to meet an npc for the first time and you don’t have the npc on your quest window.

The guide goes on to explain the crafting process in detail, How to initiate work orders, What you should and shouldn’t do while gathering and the actual crafting process. It gives figures for success rates you can expect based on the difference between your skill level and receipe level. We then get an review of the various professions. The guide gives an overview of enchantments and the basic mechanics and numbers behind it.

The Private store section of the guide talks about the technical aspects of setting up shop and also generic tips common to setting shop in most mmos like locations, pricing, what sort of goods to put up , the store message etc.

Kinah Related Quests

Okay, now we come to the part of the guide that works off the payment we make. The following part of the guide is a highly detailed quest guide for Asmodians and Elyos separately which is further classified for different level groups(and their respective maps).  Under each level group he lists out the quests that are to be completed, keeping in mind both the kinah and exp, he details how to complete the quests and talks about the drops that are to be collected. He goes on to tell which drops are to be sold at the broker and which ones we are to save for future crafts. He also explains which mobs will give good drops(kinah-wise) and which are the ones to give a miss. He emphasizes on the monsters/ mini-bosses appropriate for your level that will drop considerable drops like equips or high kinah items. He lists out repeatable quests that will yield best results. For example, the gigantic box npc at Idun’s lake is one of the best NPC’s to target especially for it’s treasure hunter weapon, each one sells for 22450 kinah(auto – price) and a lot higher if you sell it to players. This is by far the most detailed aspect of the guide with a massive number of quests being handled in this section.

Quick Kinah Opportunities

The guide does list out a few quick earning tips classified as “Kinah Farming Oppurtunities” or “Kinah Earning Oppurtunities” (marked in orange in the guide as well). These usually refer to particular trick that will earn you some quick kinah, for example , one of the “Kinah earning oppurtunities” involves selling return scrolls at a specific location which is a really long walk back with loads of hostiles on the way. Thus you get to make some good profits on these items. We made quite some kinah using this on the nezekian server . But it wont be long before that bubble bursts.:) There are a few such quick-kinah tips in the guide(but not too many)”. Work Orders

The guide then moves on to a very comprehensive list of work orders detailing quest, level and expected rewards for various professions. And then another comprehensive table listing of various item enhancements , materials required and their  AP bonus among other things. This makes for a very handy guidebook of sorts when it comes to item enhancement activities.

Currently, this is a kinah making guide upto lvl20 , it is a very detailed guide with almost 150 pages for just  upto level 20. As I’ve said before the guide does not contain too many get rich quick tricks(it has a some though), but it lays the foundation for all your kinah knowledge needs , it will act as a comprehensive kinah related handbook . And moreoever , With an assurance from the author of a full version kinah guide coming out soon, I have faith that this guide will eventually become a comprehensive source for kinah growth in game. I have mailed the author to include more “Kinah earning opportunities” tips in the updates of this guide, love the ones present in this guide. If you intend to buy it at a later stage, I would advise you to buy the guide now itself and get the free updates as it comes out, rather than risk waiting for the update to buy when the guide rate may get hiked.

This is a extremely quick 2 minute boss run and of course, the duration will depend on your skill execution and DPS.

This is also a realistic execution plan. If you look at the DPS of the 2 assassins in the video, they are achievable.

As for drop chance, you have a chance to get the gold drops but everything depends on your luck. I am not certain about the drop rate but with this speed, you can probably have your weapons pretty quick.

There is a 30 minute lock out after you finish an instance. Use this time to gather some aether nearby. Lots of aether in this place.

The other thing is: the gold weapons bind on roll. Just NPC anything you can’t use. NPC buy them for a million kinahs. That’s alot, isn’t it?

You need to be at least level 34 for this but recommend that you be at least 37 (42 max or the boss won’t drop anything)

Preparation:

Buy some Abyss HP Pots with AP and some large HP Pots

Buy some movement speed buff scrolls or +critical attack food if you want. Optional

Group up with 1 or 2 other assassins. Go with someone with pretty similar DPS to reverse aggro easily.

Meet up and enter Fire temple (asmos) or Kyola temple (elyos). You need the finish a quest to enter this instance.

In instance:

Turn on Bloodlust I (speed buff).

Turn on Hide II

Glide until you reach a mob-free spot

Wait for Hide II CD to finish.

Consume Mana pot to replenish Mana

Turn on Hide II

Proceed towards the boss’s hideout.

Kill 1 mob near boss.

Lure boss to spot using bow.

Assassin A aggro and splash DPS at Boss

Assassin A prepare to use Abyss Pot and HP Pot. This will allow you to tank a few hits.

Assassin B go to back of boss, stun, buff, backstab, surprise attack, dp skill.

Assassin B will reverse the aggro if done right.

Assassin B prepare to pot. (Kromedes gives crazy damage)

Now the aggro in on B after all that crazy damage.

Assassin A go to back of boss, buff backstab surprise attack, dp skill, repeat what player B did.

If there is a Assassin C, this will be faster but you have 1 more person to split the loot.

If you got a golden staff/orb/spellbook/mace/spear, sorry you can’t trade them.. They bind on roll! But good news is that you can NPC them for 1 million kinah. That’s quite a bit of money.

Now, there is a 30 minute lock down on re-entering the dungeon.

You can go gather some aether nearby. Lots of aether in this place.

Or you can set up store and sell some stuff outside the dungeon.

This process takes about 2 mins plus (See video)

Sadly it’s not until hitting level 17 and exploring the Miraju Holy Ground south of Verteron Citadel. Speak to Anontrite at the shrine to gain the [Coin] Dampening Spirits quest which requires you to kill 14 Atmosphere Spirits and 8 Frost Wind Spirits. This should not be too much of a challenge at the level you are at so go off and tackle the beasts. After fulfilling the quest and getting your coin, initiate the quest again. Then, before flying down to tackle more spirits, sell the miscellaneous drops to the general store nearby and you will notice that most of these items sell for quite a lot and earn you a good amount of kinah.

Most returns would net me around 5-7000 Kinah and as an added bonus the mobs in this area seem to drop valuable items that can be sold at a good price to the Auction Brokers in town. The fact they also seem to offer a nice amount of experience makes this a great place to train up.

You can repeat this quest 100 times and earn coins which can be swapped for random pieces of armour it is well worth putting some time into as well as a quick way of earning some extra cash in Verteron.

The search is case sensitive but allows to search for parts of item names. If you just take the first letters in caps, you will get the best results without having to type too much.

Some Examples:
Rose Quartz Ghost Earrings -> R Q G E
Design: Worthy Titanium Mace -> D W T M

If you get too many other results like when searching for “Worthy Accessory Flux” with W A F, you can refine it for example by typing “W Ac F” for Accessory or “W Ar F” for Armor Fluxes.

Just fyi – if you want to get the prices of an item you want to sell out of your inventory: just “ALT + Left Click” on the item when you are in the “Buy” tab and the name will get pasted in the search field.

1. Go to Setup
2. Enable Direct Sound
3. Select the SFX Button
4. Select Compressor and click Add.
5. Under Compressor Properties use the following settings

• Gain = Adjust for how loud you want people to be. (I use 15)
• Attack = 0.01
• Release = Around 500
• Threshold = Around -30
• Ratio = 100
• Pre delay = 4.0

Gain
How much volume you feed into the compressor. Not really relevant unless everyone is too quiet, then you can turn this up a little; turning it up too much will sound EXTREMELY *ty.

Attack
How fast volume change will happen. example: setting this to 500 means that anything coming in will only be dropped in volume after a half a second. For vent this should be set as low as possible.

Release
How fast the compressor stops changing things. It’s not really that relevant with vent, setting it around 500 is good for voice material.

Threshold
This sets the point where we actually start changing what’s coming in. Whereas 0 is the absolute loudest you can have for an input, -60 is super quiet. Average users will probably come in somewhere around -25 to -15, with the occaisional few being really quiet, which is why I have this set so low.

Ratio
How much any sound below the set threshold gets compressed and/or modified in the volume department. If you still want to hear SOME volume variation then set this lower (2-4)… the higher you set it the closer in volume everyone will be.

Pre delay
Mostly just deals with processing; with computer and digital processors they can look ahead a few milliseconds to see what needs to be dropped in volume or changed before it actually comes through the speakers. Highest is ideal for ventrilo.
